A press briefing yesterday from the Police Bureau of narcotics announced arrests in eight cases after joint exercises by the military, police and excise departments.

Seized were 2.4 million Ya Ba (methamphetamine mixed with caffeine) , 720 kilos of marijuana and 1,200 grams of "ice" (crystal meth), reported Daily News.

Eight arrests were made at a gas station on the Mitraphap Highway in Udon Thani then in Kalasin.

These related to a gang called "Lions of Isaan" (as translated into English).

Other arrests and drug seizures in another case were made in Samut Sakhon and Don Muang in Bangkok.

These related to a gang known as "Moo Bin" - Flying Pigs - based in the north of Thailand.

In the ganja case three people were arrested in the Wang Noi area of Ayutthaya, as previously reported by ASEAN NOW.
