I'm curious what a tourist is supposed to do at nighttime, in the TAT's opinion. If everything remains closed, lifting the curfew is just window dressing.

Where did you read that 'everything remains closed'?

Won't girls be allowed into hotel rooms either, maybe a RT PCR 48 hours before engagement will suffice

Load up with a bundle of RTK test kits before heading to the fleshpots of Thailand? I hear they are free in most countries. Administer them to your love interest but it's up to you to chose the appropriate time to do it (pre- or post-barfine).

“Entertainment venues, pubs, bars and karaoke shops in these areas will have to remain closed for the time being.”

My guess would be that this will be the case for the duration of November then, depending on the data remaining positive, the next phase will be reopening bars etc in time for the main tourism to arrive for Xmas/new year period.

Its a sensible, measured approach.

If their current rate of vaccinations continues, they could be close to 60% of the population by Dec 1. Maybe that's a threshold that gives them the confidence to open these venues.  It's probably already well past when they can attract any other than the most spontaneus travelers

Well, it's closed for those who came for 2/3/4 weeks, whatever, for beer and sex.

You need to read other forums man, plenty of single vacationers coming here and enjoying beer and carnal activities.

Girls and guys can actually drink in their condos and hotels when bars are closed believe it or not.

November 1 will begin a boom in Pattaya for sure.

Peace

Pretty simple IMO.  Once everyone who wants a vaccine has had 2 shots, you have to open.

Entertainment and bars should be open to all vaccinated people.

There is absolutely nothing wrong/unsafe with that.

IMO groceries, markets, malls, and even 7-11 should require vaccinations to enter.

If unvaccinated,  you must order what you want on Grab or Line apps

So that means the bar industry isn't needed?

Not quite sure if hotel room orgies are going to save the tourist industry.

Only 3 in which world do you describe 3 as many? the majority of the others for opening on the 1st Nov for 46 countries which is what this is about are not and will not be by then.

If the government redirected all tourists to Udon Thani we would have a serious issue on our hands, given the numbers you presented. But since most tourists will be going to the three provinces with the highest rate of vaccinations, the risk is not as high as it first appears. The numbers for Krabi are however a cause for more immediate concern.

Won't those same Grab drivers deliver stuff to you right after?

Order what you want on Grab or Line apps.

Would that include your night time 'entertainment' for your hotel room?

Edit.

Could you insist that your delivery had been double jabbed ( with vaccine that is )?

Nah.....they did well with their rip offs and scams. Bill padding, drinks watered down, lack of respect for foreigners.  Let them suffer a bit longer. Maybe they will understand foreigners are not here just for their personal enrichment.

Given it another six months and see if they get it !

Nothing is going to be cheaper when it all starts again.

The business idea of fewer customers so raise the prices will never die.

No one's whinging.

No one cares about the future of Thailand.

You seem to think Asean culture is superior.

If your idea of superior is Thailand being turned into Chinese casino colonies and the money going back to the motherland, then i think your dream may come true.

The busted flush of overbuilt and oversupplied condo's and property in Thailand is the perfect match for the Chinese Evergrande and the CCP holding it up by stumping up monthly debt payments owed.

Regarding "jumping into bed with strangers" it's the world's oldest profession whether you live in London, New York, Bangkok or Shanghai.

A comment like this shows how little knowledge of the real world you have outside your basement.

For those of us that could come and go to Thailand as and when we wished, we have options.

If it becomes a satellite of the CCP we take our dollars elsewhere. No loss to us.

Agreed, the Chinese can't wait for the Thai authorities to bulldoze all the bar and nightclub districts so they can do exactlywhat they doo in China. They build thousands of Apartment buildings that no one can afford to live in that then just fall to bits because they don't maintain them. Where I used to live in Sichuan the last 15 minutes coming into the city was just row after row of empty apartment buildings. They hacwe built entire cities that no one lives in but they don't care because they have already been paid to build them and have shipped the money out of the country. They'll do the same here at the drop of a hat because it'll be easier to get the money out of the country without Uncle Xi seeing them do it.

A lot of other countries have busy tourist businesses that don't rely on an in  your face sex industry.

That's true but it's also what differeniates Thailand from the other countries.

Thailand boasts of 40 million visitors a year but that doesn't translate as 40 million unique visitors. A good proportion of those travel 2-3 times a year to wet their wang in places like Pattaya.

seems clear that the puritans running this country are absolutely determined in their effort to not only destroy the entertainment/pub industry but also take tourism down with it

They really have no clue as to the damage they are causing

it is quite frankly incredible stupidity

Oh, I think they know EXACTLY what they are doing...
