Thai Red Cross delivers COVID-19 vaccines to displaced persons

RATCHABURI (NNT) - Thai Red Cross Society and its network partners rolled out COVID-19 vaccination for displaced persons at Ban Tham Hin Temporary Shelter in Suan Phueng District, Ratchaburi Province. It has mobilized its resources to assist in the effort to reduce death rates and minimize the severity of illness as well as helping to build the immunity of the community.

Phuket marks 83 new COVID cases, four more deaths

Delta Plus COVID variant may be 15% more transmissible than Delta strain, experts say

Delta Plus, which is a sub-variant of the Delta strain of COVID-19, may be 15% more transmissible than the original Delta variant and is responsible for increasing COVID-19 infections in the United Kingdom, said Dr. Chalermchai Boonyaleephan, vice chairman of the Senate health committee, citing preliminary studies.

Thailand aims to draw neighbours for one-day trips

Thailand’s Ministry of Health is working with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports to prepare guidelines to allow visitors from Thailand’s neighbouring countries, such as Laos, Myanmar and Malaysia, to take one-day trips to Thailand as the country prepares to reopen to tourism on November 1st.

Thailand’s first COVID Delta Plus case not same as UK, 18 others found with Alpha Plus

The first COVID-19 Delta Plus case found in Thailand is the AY.1 variant, which is different from the AY.4.2 strain currently spreading in the United Kingdom. The Thai AY.1 patient has fully recovered, said Director-General of the Medical Sciences Department Dr. Supakit Sirilak, at a news conference today (Tuesday).
