Popular Post soi3eddie
Would be intersting to see Pension Figures vs levels of General Taxation. Very few pay taxes at any level in Thailand. Even VAT is still supressed at 7%. A bit shocked to see UK only at #9 despite how much tax we pay. 6

soi3eddie
19 minutes ago, it is what it is said: how much national insurance do they pay? National Insurance is a tax too. 12% for UK employees and 13.8% for UK employer's NIC's at present Class 1 - due to rise by 2.5% soon. Don't know about Thailand but suspect nowhere near the same as the UK as few people in Thailand are even officially "on the books".

Bro, one of the main reasons I'm cashing out early and moving to Thailand. Too busy working my ass off to enjoy video gaming and writing novels, so I grinded my way through my work life, created an exit plan, and will spend the rest of my life gaming, traveling, and writing novels while continuing to be smart about money. I'll be 50 btw! 6

Well Serbia isn't listed too and I know for a fact that old people in Serbia get a lot more than pathetic 500 baht a month this government gives ti its people. Or forget about Serbia. I'm willing to bet my testicles that every single European country not listed here treats the old people better than Thai government.

You would lose your tackle mush In the UK many pensioners live on the poverty line. In Thailand it's a warm climate a different system and not comparable IMO and experience. In Thailand if they don't have a pension or money saved over 60 get 600 baht a month from govt, also are helped by there siblings if they have any. When there 70 they get 700 baht when there 80 get 800 baht and so on. If they have no family neighbours and friends help or a temple with food. Most only have 5/15 electric supply which is usually free unless they have air-con.

You say me say. I can confirm the exact opposite living in Thailand. If Thai elderly population is so fantastically better off then why Farang mug needs to sent monthly payments to friends and family. How many UK pensioners receive monthly allowance from Thais? Yes, thought so.
