Vietnam and France sign billion-dollar agreements during PM Chinh's visit

Vietnamese and French partners have signed twenty-nine agreements worth billions of dollars during PM Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to France, according to VN Express.

 

Prime Minister Chinh witnessed the signing of the agreements as part of a conference between Vietnamese and French businesses, organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment and MEDEF International, on Thursday.

 

Among the agreements were VinFast and the EDF Group's on supplying and installing electric chargers and charging services for VinFast customers in France.

 

VietJet and Airbus also signed an agreement on supplying 184 aircraft and handing over three A330 aircraft, among other terms.

 

HDBank signed with Proparco an agreement for a long-term credit sponsorship worth $100 million for Vietnam's renewable energy projects, and another agreement with Germany's DEG worth $200-300 million on sustainable development.

 

The T&T Group has multiple agreements with Total Eren worth $3 billion on renewable energy. It also signed an agreement with NG Biotech on developing and transferring technology to produce 175 quick tests, an agreement with the cancer center Francois Baclesse on building a high-quality hospital system and a private hospital specializing in cancer in HCMC, and an agreement with the EM Normandie business school on consultations to build high-quality international education models.

 

FPT and Airbus Skywise signed an agreement on deploying tech solutions and hasten digital transformation in the aviation field.

 

The CT Group and the BNP Paribas Bank has an agreement for consultation and financial support with $600 million for real estate, tech, and energy projects.

 

There were also memoranda on construction planning between the planning ministry and France's Deauville Commune and on tourism development between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with Normandy.

 

Hanoi cancer hospital K and Xenothera signed an agreement to research, discuss and perform clinical trials on anti-cancer products.

 

Chinh's official visit to France is from November 3 to 5, following his visit to the U.K. for COP26. The visit to France is his first official visit to a European country as prime minister.
