Some schools, including kindergartens, in Thailand’s northeast have been ordered closed over COVID-19 concerns following infections found among students and teachers, only in the first week of reopening of many schools across the country.

A high school in the province of Mukdahan was ordered closed, from today (Friday) until November 11th, after 80 students and staff were found to be infected with the coronavirus.

Health, other officials and medics from Nikhom Kham Soi district were dispatched to Khamsoi Pittayasan School to conduct the COVID-19 tests. All the infected were sent to a field hospital for observation and treatment as district officials appealed for public donations of food and drinking water. Students who tested negative were immediately sent home.

Well prepared then?

One school reported lockdown with a 1000 kids inside and appealing for food donations according to my Mrs what a mess this ruling cluster is making ????

Could they have had the infection before returning too school, would it not have been sensible too test the kids before they returned ?

this was inevitable and watch this happen all over the country, what a farce.  you gotta draw a line under it and learn to live with it.  stop the knee jerk reaction or its just gonna be a vicious circle of opening and shutting down again.

They have had enough had 7 months to organise a return too school but apparently they have been sitting on their butts hoping Covid would go away.

Where we live in Nongbulamphu schools opened up Monday and are closed again. A Covid case popped up from a funeral and has spread.

Fact of life unfortunately but why shut everything down again, we can’t go living like this forever.
