Ubon Ratchathani – A village chief in the Don Mod Daeng district of Ubon Ratchathani urgently reported to the police about a naked man in the village on Friday afternoon, November 5th, only to find out he was a mannequin.

Police from the Don Mod Daeng Police Station arrived at the scene around 4:30 PM. on Friday after being informed by the Bang Yang village headman Mongkolchai Phongsri that there was a naked man standing by the wall of a villager’s house scaring other residents.

Mongkolchai believed the naked man was mentally ill and urgently requested police to come visit.

This is person who "runs" the village, and cannot tell the difference between a mannequin and a person? Obviously he is not in the role because of his great intellect.

Who were the people who were scared by the "naked man"??

This must be an anatomically correct mannequin.

Otherwise I have no idea why they would blur out the "nothingness" of the crutch area.  Gob-smacked.

"The headsman reportedly apologized and stated that he might need new glasses."

Understatement of the month.

The mannequin was interviewed for 5 hours, and subsequently released on condition of good behaviour, an ankle bracelet was fitted for the remainder of this month.

Of the inflatable variety by any chance???

Mannequin was eventually found dumped at the morgue with six plastic bags over its head.........police claim they managed to get a signed confession, but no tea money.

Looks Covidish to me.

Seems to me Thais are so quick off the mark to report things to the police. You see it all the time, somebody skinny dipping at Pattaya beach at midnight....call the police. This drongo here seeing a mannequin...call the police. Few years ago when I was staying at an apartment in Bang Saen a punch up started between 2 farang, the security guard immediately raced towards the telephone to call the cops, until I stopped him and said "mai pen rai", it was just a minor punch up, a couple of thumps and it was all settled. No need to involve cops in so many of these minor incidences.
