Getting a British passport for half Thai child in the UK. Is it possible?

Featured Replies

I would like to know if anyone has experience of getting their child's British passport in the UK. Is it a similar process to get the passport in the UK rather than Thailand? I'm going back to England anyway and I don't live far from the passport office in Liverpool. At the moment, as I live far from Bangkok it would be more difficult to visit the VFS office before I leave for England.

As long as you have all the documentation, translated if necessary, I would think it's far easier.

of an existing PP ???easy if its a renewal

No it is a first passport.

I did it for my mixed race daughter, but we had to have proof of adoption in the UK (which we had) , or a valid birth cert with you named as the father, plus a certified DNA test proving paternity. Good luck.

I am on the birth certificate and married to his mother.

Did you register the child at the British Embassy ?

No i didn't. My understanding is this is not necessary.

Correct. Entirely unnecessary as long as you have a birth certificate.

Presumably you have a UK address to use on the application?
