HCMC – Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh this afternoon, November 22, left Hanoi City for Japan for an official visit at the invitation of his Japanese counterpart Kishida Fumio.

This is the prime minister’s first official visit to Japan since he took office. He is the first international guest of the Japanese prime minister, the Saigon Times reported.

A high-ranking Government delegation accompanying the PM during the November 22 to 25 visit includes Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy Le Minh Tri.

The other high-ranking officials comprise Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha and Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long.

The visit highlights that Vietnam is willing to join hands with Japan to build a new and effective development stage across several fields, including economy, defense, security, and trade.

During his visit to Japan, PM Chinh will work with Japan’s leaders to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries and promote cooperation in various fields such as economy, healthcare and Covid vaccines and antivirals.
