SmellyArmpit Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 (edited) I have be told by a British couple who have been retired here about 20 years, that Pattaya Immigration refused to renew their retirement visa unless their marriage certificate was certified (he is the primary applicant and she is included as his dependant). To achieve this, they had send the marriage certificate to get authenticated in the UK and then send it to the Thai Consulate in the UK to get verified and stamped. Has anyone else encountered this seeming new requirement. I have not seen it publicised anywhere, neither can I find any requirement for it on the Immigration websites. brewsterbudgen Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 Yes. You get the UK document legalised by the Legalisation Office in Milton Keynes and then certified by the Thai Embassy in London. It took about 10 days, but easier to do if you're in the UK.
jacko45k Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 (edited) One might consider 2 separate retirement extensions. Even a marriage extension, married to a Thai requires validation of the marriage cert.at some ministry I believe. Edited November 25, 2021 by jacko45k
