Does the entry into Thailand require only an antigen test. Not a PCR. Effective 1 December 2021

I am returning to Thailand on 29 December and I have already paid for a PCR test.

Please clarify

Thanks

Last week, they decided to change the rules; effective from December 16th, only an antigen test is needed for vaccinated arrivals from the approved countries. However, then came omicron; thus, they may very well postpone the change to a later date.

Follow the news over the next few days as the newer plan for antigen test may be scrapped and go back to the PCR test and 1 day hotel stay   it's in debate right now

You will still need a negative PCR test 72 hours before departing for Thailand. As others have mentioned, they have discussed replacing the PCR at arrival with an anti-gen test, presumably since results are much faster and you wouldn't need to book a 1 day quarantine hotel. Looks like Omicron has put those plans on hold.
