Popular Post webfact
The Thai military lodged a protest note with the Myanmar government, via the local Thai-Myanmar Border Committee (TBC) yesterday (Thursday), over the landing of a mortar-type shell on Thai soil in Mae Sot district of the western province of Tak. The shell, which is believed to be a mortar round, landed in a sugarcane plantation in a Thai village in Mae Tao sub-district, causing a fire which was eventually extinguished by a fire crew. In the protest note, the Naresuan Task Force, which is responsible for maintaining security along the western border with Myanmar in Tak province, asked Myanmar forces to exercise caution in the use of such weapons, with a warning that the Thai military may retaliate if territorial sovereignty is breached. Popular Post Golden Triangle
Could really do with a warning before that picture, not the sort of thing I really want to see, not because I'm squeamish, I've seen much worse in the flesh during my time with EOD, I just don't wish to see it these days, maybe it could be covered with a warning prior to someone opening it. 3

Possibly leading to points being deducted.

Popular Post Russell17au
From memory if any countries military fired a military weapon across a border into another country it was actually a declaration of war and the country being attacked had the full right to defend itself including crossing the border into the other country to eliminate all threats by any means it wishes which could lead to a full invasion. But that would not happen here because both the leaders got their position the same way, by military coup. I sincerely hope so, in fact IMO the genocidal terrorist organization the Tatmadow and its brutal leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing should be totally eradicated. Unfortunately he is supported by China and Russia.

Tropposurfer
Another chapter in the Myanmar human rights tragedy. Oh .. ho hum the self-righteous world super-powers will say ... Just another global human rights tragedy. I saw the deposed and jailed female ex prime minister on international news feed early today appearing in court in prison uniform. And the junta doubles down once again.
