Should i update all my driver manually ? (surface laptop)

I was having trouble connecting to the wifi and finally figured out that the wifi adapter driver need upgrading. I used a free program for this (driver booster) Now my wifi works great again.

Strange that MS windows did not upgrade this automatically, the adapters web page has the update  marked *critical*. Driver Booster also shows a bunch upgrades to the amd cpu is required. Should i allow these upgrades too?  Bit worried that it will crash my computer.

Free apps like Driver Booster usually show more drivers need updating than actually necessary so that you will go out and buy the 'pro' version

Go into Control Panel, Device Manager, Network Adapters, find the WiFI Adapter, right click, Update Driver. That should do it.

That is the point. MS does not update the drivers properly.

I went to AMD and download their tool and updated that way. I also used the booster program for a couple drivers. Laptop seems to be running a bit faster now????

Microsoft does update just not that often.  I build my own computers so i know what i put in there and often go to the site of the motherboard manufacturer and of the graphical card manufacturer to find the newest drivers.

You did the right thing. Same for the GPU and sometimes for the soundcard you can improve the performance a bit by going to their respective website and update manually.

But don't trust those driver update programs. They always find things that are not necessary. There is only so much you can upgrade with drivers. The days that it really made a difference is a long time ago.

Windows does that job pretty well.
