How many times can I do the COVID extension? Am I safe?

Details:

American passport

5 previous COVID extensions

I have my TM30

I have my printout of my online TM47 (90 day report) approved

10 months left of insurance coverage from AIA in Thailand (~25MB), which includes COVID 

 

I was supposed to have a job, but they said they started the visa process but did not finish it (NGO), so I have a letter saying that (in Thai), which was meant for my insurance company, not immigration. Not planning to move forward with the NGO because they are taking too long

 

Need to go to Chaengwattana for this. Going tomorrow (a week early).

Positive report just today from someone I've been assisting, that obtained covid extension CW today.

Positive experience. Friendly io and obtained covid extension. Not even asked for TM30.

 

IMO don't provide anything unless it's asked for.

As the saying goes ..."keep it simple"

thanks. i'll definitely report back after i go. how many extensions did that person have? i'm going to N1, if that helps.

He had several covid extensions.

I think you will be fine.

Obviously very nerve racking and it should not be so.

All extensions are 1900baht for the period of extension.

Be that 30 days 60 days or 12 months.

I been in country since Feb 2020.  Covid ext the whole time, except  for the first amnesty.   So, until they stop, which the whole worlds locking down again, so more here Im sure

You are never safe with anything in Thailand, even with permanent residence, which can easily be revoked.

I've lived here 2 years on Covid extensions, never had a problem either.

got approved for 60 days. the guy who showed up in the Michael Jordan jersey and shorts was sitting there for a long time, though.

 

i should add, i did include a flight itinerary as well. and the IO appeared to write more on my copies that i gave to her.

Which immigration office?

There is no reason to discontinue COVID extensions throughout 2022, unless something drastic transpires.

 

I guess if they put big joke back in charge of immigration I might change my forecast.

I am on a tourist visa, and got a covid extension yesterday from Chiang Mai Immigration. No different to any other covid extension I've obtained.

 

There was no questioning of future plans or need for outbound flight.

 

It was just fill out the forms, give the 1900 baht, see you again in 14 days (under consideration stamp).

 

So at least in CM, it's business as per covid usual.

So no under consideration period.

Extension starts from end of current permit and not day of application?

Your account is of course how it should be and yet some folk at various offices being given hard time. 

Along with comments such as .."this is your last one" etc
