I was caught outside Thailand in 2020, and had to wait until Feb 2021 to come back in. When I got my new visa, I had to buy Special Covid insurance. I had to go out again last month (December 2021) for a couple of weeks. I have since renewed my regular health insurance, but I have heard that O-A visa holders don't have to renew Covid insurance. Is this true?

Covid 19 insurance is not required to apply for a extension of stay (it is not a visa) at immigration. It is only required for a entry to the country.

From his post it sounds lijke he has left Thailand and needs to reenter.

For that you need to show proof of at least US$50k in insurance that includes COVID.

And you will have to obtain a "Thailand Pass" and quarantine on arrival unless you enter via one of the "Sandbox" schemes.
