Former election commissioner Somchai Srisuthiyakorn has urged opposition Seri Ruam Thai party to sue Thailand’s Election Commission (EC) over alleged failure in the performance of its duty relating to vote-buying in the Lampang Constituency 4 by-election on June 20th, 2020.

Tut tut.... vote buying who'd have thought.

hope they got value for the money handed out.

Plenty of cases in the past where an investigtion revealed that the 'cash' was stolen from the commonwealth funds of Thailand, didn't actually come from the personal funds of the candidate.

I worked for several years with an outspoken Thai lady, her father was a local very snr., cop and he was in charge of local upcountry distribution of 'handouts '(cash to buy votes) for a hight profile less than ethical party.

She was proud of her fathers work.

Folks asked her 'how does it happen?'

She just laughed and said 'so easy you can't believe' and several times shared details of several of the 'processes'. She freely, without any concern, with pride admitted many older folks were frightened of her father and his henchmen and just accepted the money, no questions asked, kept their mouths shut..

And yet so many world class comedians use it as humour, which makes the audience laugh. As with your comment, do you think anyone with any knowledge of Thailand needed to be told.
