roman50 Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Greetings all, Looking for assistance understanding how / where to set up a covid test for flight to USA. Would like to set up easiest acceptable test for USA entry next Saturday near Swampy airport. Will be booking hotel near airport night before flight out early Sunday morning. Reading now of needing a test one day before departure. Is there a difference between one day before and 24 hours before? Perhaps one of the airport hotels providing service? Thanks
Captain Monday Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 US requires test sample one calendar day before leaving There is a difference between one day before and 24 hours before. With one day before you can take tour test at 08:00AM on Friday for a flight departing 23:55PM on Saturday. The rule provides travelers more flexibility. 1
Popular Post Sheryl Posted January 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 22, 2022 There is only one airport hotel and it provides testing only for in-coming passengers that are using it as a "Test and Go or Quarantine package. The usual go-to place for pre-departure testing is here: https://www.medconsultbangkok.com/ There is also apparently a place within the airport that can do it, see this thread https://aseannow.com/topic/1247181-pcr-test-bangkok-airport/ which if you otherwise would nto be in or going through Bangkok, might be more convenient For US, antigen test is acceptable, does nto have to be PCR - but check first the requirements of any country you will transit through 3

I passed this on to a friend, who will be departing next month, so any feed back could help others. Thanks Treetop who posted this.

"Dear Customers ANS would like to inform you that ATK and RT-PCR tests would be temporarily discontinued at Suvarnabhumi Branch from tomorrow (6 January 2022) onwards. We apologize for the inconvenience." 2
Trvlr55 Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 There's many places in Bangkok, no idea about near airport, sorry. for US there is still no RT-PCR test requirement; so regular, less expensive, more available antigen "any type" test is perfectly acceptable. I have used this to return to US. The only thing they did was change the requirement from 3 days to 1 day.
treetops Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 If the ANS one mentioned is indeed closed there is another potential option at the airport here: (Pic taken from another thread)
roman50 Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 The ans thailand location at the airport is closed, moved to Central Village Mall. Still nearby airport but difficult communication. After several search's of testing locations near airport, gave up and made appointment at "med consult" 30 minutes from airport (link in Sheryl's response earlier). Easy communication and some history of clients. Will try contacting the location at the airport shown in "TreeTops" response. Interesting nothing comes up for search's of covid testing at and near airport?? Thanks again for the responses.
roman50 Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 As a side note, here is text (my underline) about USA entry from us gov website yesterday, 1/25/2022, Great business opportunity.. Travelers must show documentation of a negative viral COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 within the past 90 days before boarding a plane to the United States (or before boarding the first flight in a series of connections booked on the same itinerary to the United States). Both nucleic acid amplification tests (NAATs), such as a PCR test, and antigen tests qualify. A self-test can be used if it meets the requirements of the order including real-time proctoring by a telehealth service affiliated with the manufacturer of the test and that generates a test result that can be reviewed by the airline before boarding. This is the same standard for qualifying tests that has applied to the pre-departure testing requirement since January.
Marvest Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 For what it's worth: As of late December 2021, 56 Hotel (SHA Plus+) was providing a test service via Thainakarin Hospital (walking distance of the hotel). I understood at the time you could arrange your own test at Thainakarin Hospital independent of the hotel as well. PCR Test with overnight results available by email early the next morning -- BHT 2000 at the time. Call to verify before making your travel plans.
roman50 Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 Another update, Thanks to "TreeTops" ATK (rapid antigen test) available at swampy. walk-in only, open 24 hours 30 minute results good for entry to countries allowing ATK tests. Located ground floor, door 3. Info on AOT (airports of thailand) facebook page, in thai langauge, Wife just spoke with them on telephone. tel . 0846604096
