BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - Suspected Islamic insurgents opened fire on a school bus Sunday, wounding nine people including eight Muslim teenagers in Thailand's restive south, police said.

The bus was driving the students _ aged from 13 to 18 years _ home from a private Islamic school in Yala province's Yaha district when an unknown

number of assailants in a pickup truck opened fire on them, seriously wounding the driver, said police Lt. Dularit Chuchae. Eight students on the bus were slightly injured.
