Hundreds of thousand litres of crude oil leaks in Gulf of Thailand, clean up operations underway

The majority of tourists arriving at piers on the mainland to board ferries to Samet are unaware of this requirement, and some opt to cancel their island trip instead of spending 330 baht per person for the test at the pier.

COVID-19 causes closure of loss-ridden major insurance company

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) was officially notified today (Wednesday) by Thai Group Holdings (TGH) of the decision of the board to close down one of its subsidiaries, Southeast Life Insurance, after it suffered a hefty loss caused by compensation payments made to customers who took out insurance coverage for COVID-19 infections under the “Found, Paid, Done” insurance plan.

PM Orders Swift Handling of Leaked Crude Oil Near Map Ta Phut

RAYONG (NNT) - Much of the crude oil that leaked near Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate in Rayong has now been contained, after an amount of crude started leaking from an undersea pipeline at about 9 pm on Tuesday night (25 Jan). Vessels are now spraying chemicals onto the patches of oil to minimize the impact on the environment.
