Sanook reporters hotfooted it to Dootung sub-district in Yasothon in Thailand's agricultural north east after a local official called Nookorn told them about the birth of a cleft tongued calf.

Due to the rift in the calf's mouth it looks like it has two tongues.

In the fields near the village of Khambon they met Suphan, 54, who was tending his livestock.

One of his two breeding cows had given birth on January 5th to the unusual calf that was causing a lot of interest among neighbors in the area.

He had given the calf the name of "Bunlai" - a name that means much merit.

He was convinced that the calf would bring him great fortune.

He intends to look after it and raise it to adulthood.

Well, oppurtunity for Suphan to identify a neighbour with a "cleft tongue" for ancestry documentation purposes.

I wonder if it will be able to "MOO" properly !

While most other farmers around the World ,would think that was a disaster

and cull the animal with that kid of deformity ,

If it can whistle it'll be telly next week.

Sell it to the government to use as a mascot illustrating how to speak with a forked tongue.

What would he normally do ? Kill it and eat it ? Seems like a strange thing to say.
