Daily News Thai caption: Cleared of dirty business

Daily News reported that the criminal court has thrown out allegations made against charismatic cop Pol Lt-Gen Surachate Hakpan.

The man known as Big Joke who is now a multi-job advisor at RTP HQ had been named in a suit by Pol Col Krisanapong Kanjachaikit accusing him of perjury and defamation.

The case related back to July 2011 when a group of twelve men were facing charges related to taking bribes from a karaoke establishment.

The court had given the plaintiff in July 2020 to present evidence of wrong doing on behalf of the defendant - Big Joke - but had failed to do so.

So the case was dismissed yesterday.

Big Joke had no comment for reporters as he walked out of court- though was that a trace of a smile behind the mask in a picture published by Daily News?

so both of them have the elephant ticket and any and all charges will always be dropped against them.

Just thai courts have to work harder how to dismiss such case, or how to blame the innocent.

It all can be done.

Example above.

This case took 10 years to come to conclusion. Another 10, if somebody appeals or the karaoke owner returns from his hideout in Laos

In Pattaya most bars pay (tea money) to police on a monthly basis and if they don't an excuse will be found to fine you anyway. If this isn't corruption then what is???

In manufacturing it's termed "greasing the wheels"

In Pattaya and such places it's "turning a blind eye"

Pattaya Plod have been strangling businesses for years; all bars need 'Music Licences' irrespective of having no music; they asked for 'Darts Licences' until the Town Hall confessed there was no such thing. Then there was the 'Bridge Fiasco' soon to be followed by 'Quiz Nights' tax.
