Thailand is pushing for a new amendment draft that would legalize surrogacy for international parents seeking Thai surrogate mothers.

But many are concerned that if the amendment passes, anyone can come to Thailand and “hire” Thai women who are impoverished to be surrogate mothers.

Critics said on Monday that the new draft may lead to child exploitation and that it could undermine the original law, which already provides some level of protection.

Pimping is what Thai government knows best. Labor to Saudis, labor pains to Thai women.

I know families have sold there daughters for a long time, but now allowing them to sell their babies?

Thailand is really broken to allow this.

Shame shame !!  So many questions ....

Why should Thailand care about the inability of foreigners to conceive?

Why can't they adopt? (in their own countries or abroad)

Who is pushing for this legislation?

Are Thais protesting for the right to be surrogates?

Maybe lawyers and NGOs love this stuff, I guess it big business?

Perhaps TAT loves the sound of "surrogacy tourism"?

How many billion baht is this supposed to generate, is that the motive?

Surrogacy often leads to heart breaking stories, just say NO.
