webfact Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 Picture: Siam Rath Thai media Siam Rath used the polite Thai word for a water monitor after one half crashed through a lady's ceiling. They referred to the protected beast as a "tua ngern tua thong" ' the silver and gold beast'. Bang Khen police along with rescue services soon had the two meter long animal in custody and returned to nature. Picture: Siam Rath Sirirat, the house owner, said she heard a crash and felt plaster crashing down and got quite a start when she looked up. Thais often use the vernacular word for a water monitor when swearing though there is a belief among older Thais that using the polite word will bring riches. I hear that's correct, suggests ASEAN NOW's cultural affairs correspondent. They can climb vertical walls, as I have seen myself, so no issue there. We have one that very occasionally visits our totally walled garden, getting over a 7 foot wall. The dogs go mental when they see it and it, very slowly, it climbs over again.

We've got one behind out place, except he burrows under the wall. 1
