Don't worry, the GLiSDiBs have arrived in Ukraine.
Better news are coming soon.

Boom here, Badaboom there.

The GLiSDiBs are six months late BTW. They were first announced for delivery in the summer 2023... I don't know the reasons for the delay. Boeing is co-building them with SAAB - oh well, at least they can't loose doors and I hope SAAB built the guidance system.

Continuing discussion in western and Ukrainian media about the feud that has opened up between President Zelenskiy and his hugely popular and respected army chief Zalunhyi. Zalunhyi has gone public to face him down. It would appear from the commentary here and elsewhere that the army wants more compulsory conscription to face off Russia in the meat grinding front lines ,that and the Presidents jealously at a more respected player on the political stage. There will be considerable concern from western allies if Zelenkiy through apparent defect of character allows personal enmities to get in the way of successfully prosecuting the war.   https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2024/02/01/zelensky-zaluzhny-ukraine-military-shakeup/

Kyiv Post almost mutinous in its reporting in support of the army chief. It is of course to Ukraine's great credit they can have such a frank debate in Russia bodies would be dying. https://www.kyivpost.com/post/274388

Constantly amazed at how small a bomb in the right place takes out a mutli million dollar tank

There was some of that on show during the Hamas 7/10 attack on Israel.

Subsequently, all (or almost all) of the relevant tanks/vehicles were fitted with a sort of cage/net like addition on top of the hatch. A bomb dropped like that could still do some damage, but not that easy anymore. Expect these would become standard world wide as armies catch up. Maybe a business opportunity for some aspiring, innovative welders.
