Thailand voted for the resolution!

Thank you Thailand! Well done!

This is a sad time for all. To say I will stay neutral is stating that I am a coward and scared to speak against brutal regimes. Simple as that. It is called freedom and most have just spent 2 years being told what we can and cannot do. Now imagine running away and losing all your lifes work for a brutal dictator. We all know what Putin and XI are capable of and the more countries that stay NEUTRAL just empowers them. Both these clowns need to be taken out and put in front of the world as they are barbarians

Good. Stay out of it. This is NATO and EU expansionism that's blame and the wests funding of the Ukrainian Nazi national guard. Take EU and NATO expansion off the table. Russia have been demanding it for over 30 years.

Voting for it but then playing the games they are by findi a 3rd party to funnel their exports to Russia says something completely different.

Same as i.e. Germany still buying gas from Russia:). Dont blame Thailand. You have no clue.

The Russian people want to eat rice and fruits etc. from Thailand. No issue with that.

The Russian people are not the aggressor. Its one person and his followers who are in fear.

Why are you so surprised?

Did you really expect anything different?

No one is suggesting that war is a good thing and no one is backing Putin or agreeing with his actions .

Exactly. Putin has a mission and Ukraine is a lost cause.

Once Russia has taken control the dust will settle and a new norm will prevail with a global division between East and West. Two of the largest BRICS countries, China and India, did not support the UN resolution.

With a significant percentage of the population being of Chinese descent, fairly obvious which camp Thailand will be in.

Money trumps everything here.  EVERYTHING!  Because money gives you status and face, and stopping money from coming from Russia because they attacked Ukraine is pointless from some perspectives.  Doing what is right even if it affects pocketbooks is a foreign concept for many people here.  It’s not even a democracy here, so you shouldn’t be surprised about them staying neutral.

He noted that Thailand will adhere to ASEAN’s stance on the Russia-Ukraine dispute, as the grouping has advocated for discussions between the conflicting parties.

Actually, Myanmar was full of admiration for Russia as being a "strong country". General Prayut's "Grouping" as he put it, is not unanimous in their statements.

I do agree with your sentiments but the pain they feel is a direct response to what Putin is doing.  Now if they stated they were providing humanitarian aid things might be seen differently, but it is the Ukraine and then the People with almost 1 million who have fled the barbaric invasion who need the humanitarian assistance.......remaining neutral while supporting the regime attacking Ukraine is not the same as remaining neutral and then expecting to finance the deals through a third party tells you Thailand's take is about money and not people.

Its in Thailand's self interests to remain neutral and no to get involved .

Thailand isnt a World power and doesnt need to get involved with either side

Very true.  I dont think any of the World Powers really expect emerging countries like Thailand to do anything.

I dont think Ukraine do either.

So weak.  So immoral.  So expected.

Your self-righteousness is rather embarrassing.  Take a break - I think the excessive negativity in online forums can really be bad for one's mental health.
