River Cruises / Dinner In Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Me and my family will be stopping off in BKK for a couple of days(Late June) on route back to my wifes family in Vietnam. We are bringing my mother back this year and i thought a nice river cruise/Dinner may be nice for her.Can anyone kindly recommend any that are good??

Cheers

Do a Google search for "Pearl of Siam" dinner cruises. Reasonably priced, and a nice evening on the river.

I have gone on several over the years. Some are glitzy with disco's and Western/Thai buffet's and others have just plain bad food. The problem is they are generally very noisy with literally hundred's of tourists on these boats. The nicest one is the Shangri La hotel boat but it also one of the most expensive as it's quiet and intimate.

My recent favorite is the Yok York. http://www.yokyor.co.th/ Reason being is the boat is not glitzy and sometimes maybe 3 other diners are only on it. You order the food at their restaurant and then the boat departs. It's quiet but you get the great atmosphere of the evening on the river and you are only paying for the food. Same as you would if you ate it in the restaurant! The food is also great!
