I don't think that murderers get "Royal Pardons".

Royal pardons are given to people who are coming to the end of their prison

sentence and who didn't commit major crimes .

   No way will this person be getting a Royal pardon

Was jailed for drug offences, which is not a major crime.

"Life sentences" are generally know to mean a 20 year + jail sentence , rather than literally the rest of a persons life behind bars
