Military Thailand Buys 4 New Gripen Jets in Deal with Sweden
Are you really implying that the Thai people lack the capability to maintain a fifth-generation fighter and have been forced to settle for a fourth-generation one? Such a perspective seems steeped in white supremacy. -

Report Dream Crushed: British Expats’ Thai Retirement Nightmare
Well, one could say they've been 'savaged' by Thai 'systems'. I agree with many here that there are significant details missing, therefore I won't dive in with opinions that are really unqualified. Whether she set him up, or is a joint victim, who knows? The message I take from this is: If you're in your mid-sixties, have worked hard and accumulated some wealth and decide to move to Thailand with a Thai wife, leave a chunk of the money at home and be prepared to give the rest away. Your old, you move here for a quiet life, an easy life. Don't be tempted to go out and make more money than you'll ever need in the years you may have left. I went for breakfast with some expats the other morning, three in the small group had experienced a heart attack either in their late 60s or early 70s. None of them were overweight with a couple of them being 'fit' cyclists. Anytime folks, our number will be up. I own nothing here in Thailand. Everything is in my wife's name so when I pop my clogs, there are no issues. The chunk of money in Australia is in my name and is covered by a Will in that country. My kids need nothing from me as they both earn good money in their own careers, e.g. my daughter is a geoscientist, at 26, on a package of $AU 165,000/yr. My wife is an Aussie permanent resident and speaks good English with a degree in tourism management and business. We were married in Australia, where we met, in 2019 and only moved to Thailand this year, at my suggestion. But always be vigilant, be a good judge of character, and never walk around without a shirt on. Me? I hate being around her family in a singlet, let alone topless. Who wants to look at a saggy barrel chest? 555 -

Do you have unlimited internet SIM card?
I use AIS with unlimited internet at high speed like yours. I pay 1200 monthly.. i do not think you will find a better deal with your sim card. Your speed test is only done with local servers. If you are using the high speed internet for sites abroad then that speed decreases exponentially. There is a way to check the speed with servers outside of Thailand. My internet speed locally is almost 75MBPS locally within Thailand. But when checking with servers outside of Thailand it's reduced to 12 to 15MBPS -

Road Rage (Foreigner Style)
How would the driver in the red car know that there are people crossing the road, until he starts to make the turn? But @lordgrinz has an overview of everything. He could simply allow the red car to complete the turn and that would be that. But he wanted to assert his 'rights' rather than to simply be courteous. It's a tight corner and therefore easy to slip out of lane in the process. A diligent driver would have made allowances and given the red car ahead space to complete. @lordgrinz couldn't wait and caused a dangerous situation. The red car driver's behaviour afterwards was completely unacceptable. Two monkeys on the road. -

Report Dream Crushed: British Expats’ Thai Retirement Nightmare
The picture says it all. A conspiracy. This kind of thing goes on all the time in Thailand. The wife's actions will likely have been taken as a result of pressure on her from her relatives. This story simply confirms that foreigners should never invest more in Thailand than they can afford to lose.- 1
