Thai PBS continued on the expose that has become known as lampostgate.

This is where local authorities spend huge sums of money on fancy adornments on lampposts that nobody wants.

Critics say it is just a way for corrupt officials to step on the gravy train.

Especially as the lampposts - often on roads that lead absolutely no where or are just dirt tracks - need constant maintenance and renewal.

The media had a six minute video posted to YouTube after finding two more examples in Mukhdahan in the north east and Sa Kaeo province.

So many of course in Kanchanaburi in the main part and look very nice indeed!!1

They can find lamp posts, but they can't find any official who approved them...

Well, one out of two is better than nothing.

Sometimes they're even installed incorrectly and need to be redone, a process, if going by the roadworks near us, takes around 127 years.

No nocturnal removals / resale yet then?

Geez even Scousers get that done

If a person of authority happens to live at the end of that dirt track, it might be a good place to start.

The persons who authorised all those should be put in jail and made to pay back All the money they Wasted on this.

This is totally insane this is out of this world.

It might be embarrassing to find out who owns the company the produces and sells the lamp posts.
