I think this would be waaaaaaaaaay more successful than the trip to Koh Samui...... Even the Pattaya to Hua Hin run I think would be better.. Serious question. Well you do bring up one good point..... and that is the overhead to operate a ferry.... Why did they bail out from the Hua Hin Pattaya ferry route?..... I will tell you why...... Because the overhead expenses were killing them....... Even when the boats were not running all employees must still be paid, insurance still must be paid. maintenance must still happen etc etc.... My point here is operating a ferry is very expensive... So you're right about a very loooong return on investment.... When a engine part blows out, you don't just go to Home Pro and buy another one..........Nope... You have that part shipped in from overseas at great expense...The ongoing ferry cost are never ending.... So unless you have a Cherrie and hugely popular route like the Pattaya Koh Larn run.......I think it is a risky busisness...... Serious question. Same old negative attitude. I'm assuming you don't live in Thailand and therefore are not aware of what can be said/written in a public forum, under the Computer Crimes Act. If you truly think we are stupid enough to persevere with this project blindly, without any knowledge or understanding, then you are way more ignorant than (as suggested by you) the shareholders/investors in the project. We are well aware of the risks, consequences etc.. but still believe we can turn this around, especially in the current market. Spare parts are due to arrive today at Laemchabang. Rebuilding the auxiliary engines will take about 3 weeks, including testing.. so hopefully, fingers crossed, we'll resume on/about February 3rd. May I give you the well-meant advice to reconsider that for not everybody likes/has Facebook and will not use it (like myself). A well maintained homepage which includes all the information in one place including a booking mechanism would be a far better choice. Every restaurant can do that so I guess it is not too difficult. The delay in releasing the working website/on-line booking system etc.. has purely arisen from fear of releasing a sailing date only to be forced to reschedule again. Mechanically the vessel is all fully repaired. Also the vessel has had a tough "top to bottom" Safety Inspection by the Marine Department/Class and the Insurance Companies and fully passed. The current hick-up is in Samui, where some extra dredging work is needed, especially at the Nathong Jetty and the Samui authorities are demanding extra paper work/operating licensing etc.. etc.. which we are rushing to complete. We are still on schedule to resume services on the 9th of February and we will be making announcements both on Facebook and the website next week.
