Thai Rath reported on a grim case from Roi-Et in the north east of Thailand. It was all about Yaba, the meth of choice in Thailand.

Two years ago Likhit or Num, 34, went back home after his marriage failed. His wife kicked him out because of his drug use.

In Roi-Et in the village of Ban Rai Non Charoen things went from bad to worse.

Num was forever pestering his mother, Teun, 64, to give him handouts to buy drugs.

Yesterday she refused even though she had the 500 baht cash he demanded. She'd buried it in a plastic bag by the chicken coop.

This all infuriated Num who attacked Phrom, the houseowner and step father to Num, with a hammer.

Num then pulled out a 9mm gun.

Phrom, 57, said he launched himself at his stepson and they grappled with the gun that went off once.

He wasn't sure who had been hit until Num slumped to the floor.

Sateuk ploce have charged Phrom with negligent homicide.

A 9mm gun was taken into evidence.

Maybe the best option for the mother, her son

could have ended up killing her if she would not

give him money to buy YaBa ,

Best place for him. Obviously too far gone with drug addiction.

This country has no resources for rehabilitation as it doesn't attract the votes.

I hate to say it but probably the best form of rehabilitation available, pity about the man protecting the Mother.

Almost identical across the rd from me. Hammer attack by a yabba user.

His father a non violent person has now had three brain operations.

I said ten years ago this retard will kill someone (not that it helps his father any)

Does sound a bit strange. It looks like self defense from a gun wielding drug addict.

Must have been a great relief then to discover that it wasn't himself !

Num a drug addict son, demanding money then pulling out a gun..

died in a tussle...

Good!

Didn't the PM say a few years ago they should make it legal because Thais knew how to handle it, unlike westerners.  He said it was used responsibly by truck drivers and college students studying for exams.

from this story, he shouldn't be charged with homicide at all! give the man a medal for fighting a meth head that is attacking with a hammer and a gun!

Sounds like self defense to me. He deserves a medal for ridding the world of a low life piece of dog sh!t
