Every guy I know who lived in Thailand lost money. $100,000+ Married Thais and money went into family or taken by women or just wasted on randoms.

 

Now not rich folk either average people.

 

Whats the best way to avoid this?

 

Is there a way of living that results in fun without the downside? That is whilst still dating women etc.

 

People say rent dont buy but that costs.

Its still hard for most guys. The little head takes over. If only it was so easy. One bloke said he wished his willy was cut off at age 20 then he would be rich.

1st, don't leave your brain at immigration when arriving at BKK.

 

Don't do what you wouldn't do in your home country.

.... support your GF / wife's family

 

Stay single, as you would in your home country, if smart

 

Live within your means.  Set a budget, stick to it, as you should

anytime, anywhere.

 

If buying (condo) how do you lose money, though you'd be stuck for at 

least 10 yrs in same place, so chose wisely. Or rent, play it safe.

 

Prioritize ... do you really need a car, or even a motorbike.  I don't, and if

money was an issue I wouldn't, or I'd have the Celerio I go on about ????

 

All simple, but fall under that uncommon common sense for some expats.

In ancient times, kings and emperors have waged wars for women. This is as ancient as one's DNA. Just swallow your pride and give what you could and never think of money for a moment once parted.  

If I had a relationship with a poor person in Alabama, I'd likely run into a lot of the same poverty-based relationship problems and expectations as I read here. If it were a black person, there would be cultural differences.

 

But Alabama is like wealthy Switzerland and a black Alabama sharecropper is practically my sister compared to the disparities in Thailand.

 

When I lived in England as an American, I underestimated the differences between them and me because I felt that I "knew" the place because of the shared language, which you don't even have in Thailand. But England is like Mars to Americans and Thailand is like Pluto. So always remember you're visiting Pluto and that you're not a Plutonian.

I get very horny. I pre paid money to this woman i met once. Have seen her since but still silly on my part. Her hot body and smile fooled my brain. Hottest backside Ive seen in ages.

Never go to Thailand.

Dating women with fantastic backsides is always more complicated. They have access to a mirror and have peered over their shoulders. They know what's what, backside-wise.

 

If they live in a poor place where plucking you like a goose is a very accepted norm, and are broadly racist against you, that crack in the back just got even more complicated.

Some guys are needy and get girlfriends or wives quickly. I'd say stay single, be a sigma male perhaps

In Thailand, men finally get more sex, but the relationships are more iffy. Still, you see more happy faces in Pattaya than most places.

The vast majority of Western guys I know in Thailand are in perfectly normal relationships with Thai women, not really much different from the west... Mutual respect, similar socio-economic status... just regular decent couples....   I don’t know why some guys struggle and end up in disastrous situations.

Def agree that you should shop around and not jump on the first bus that sails on by. So to get the quality women, you have to not be trying to get them -which is hard when you are gagging to get them.

 In almost every scenario its going to cost you to be with a woman. The trick is to find a woman who genuinely appreciates what you do for her, I don't mean she should be falling at your feet for making her life easier.  I mean she should have your back because she knows you have hers.
