Your assumption Thailand will follow, is I believe, false.   Two completely separate markets with separate circumstances.   What kickstarted the EV revolution here was BYD & GW

From Atto 3 User Manual....shows location of USB fuses....fuse box in under hood/engine compartment.

The "Basic" warranty for the USB charging points is 3 yrs/60,000 Km but the "Extended" warranty adds 2 more years and 10,000 Km to the Basic warranty.. When the dust settles that means a 5 yr / 70,000Km warranty. Has your Atto exceeded 70,000Km? (I know it hasn't exceeded 5 yrs).

interesting! I will check that.

thanks for the answers everyone, I will actually check the fuse for this, i know that each or both USB ports must have a fuse.

Derived from multi AI request to diagnose and replace.

Remove with plastic pry tools check 12V present on connector. 3 pins on plug are +- 12V and illumination feed. Check 12V is present on pin 1+2. If faulty module you can buy new here.

Nice to know!

I wasn't aware of this site, they are selling very useful parts: https://www.pgautopart.com/category/884/byd-spare-parts-guide

nothing for MG IM5

It wasn't the fuse, but I will check the warranty next time I go to the dealer.

Was looking that fuse box and the 200A bus bar, it looked kinda weak. 200A x 440V matches 88kW DC Fast charging.

next wee I will be going to Bangkok to pick the IM5 in Red, wrap it, apply a ceramic coat and drive back to south.

I'm really excited to get this car, it will be very annoying the swapping of turn signals stick to the left side, but then I dont have to waste so many hours every week charging the car in the PTT station,

honestly it's becoming so tedious the charging at PTT experience, just full of selfish people, park the car in the charger whatever they feel like, block others from charging, dont remove car after charging, every week this BS non-sense....

I wouldn't buy an EV if I didn't own a house with charging facilities.

I have a lady friend in her late 70's who bought an MG4 X-Power and she can only charge at public chargers, she doesn't mind a coffee at amazon while she charges.

since february 2025, i’ve been driving an electric car and have used public charging stations around 40 times so far. luckily, i haven’t had any bad experiences with selfish people yet ... well, to be fair, twice i had to wake up people sleeping in their cars so they could move their fully charged cars out of the charging spot... 😂

around where i live (nakhon nowhere), most charging stations are usually available, so there’s not much need to plan charging stops. but this changes once you get closer to bangkok. but with a little planning and some flexibility, charging just becomes a simple toilet and coffee break ...

With so many selfish people these days, hogging the charging outlets she could be there for hours.

BTW, at a condo I own there's an old duck, Chinese woman, she rides a bicycle EV, crappy Chinese thing that she charges using the common power outlet behind the coffee machine situated in the underground carpark.

We have 4 PTT’s with EV charging within a few km, there’s also Rever and Spark, I’ve never seen anyone at Spark.

And 3.5 years in, with PTT our 'go to' for CS, and we haven't experience any of that. Actually quite surprise that CS run so smoothly.

Only had to call Cust. Serv. a couple time, to have charger 'reset' and fast & easy enough to do.

We go on our road trip tomorrow

*29/05 Mae Phrik

*31/05 Ratchaburi

*03/06 Chumphon

*05/06 Khao Lak

*08/06 Krabi

*11/06 Khanom

*13/06 Hua Hin

*16/06 Nakhon Pathom

*18/06 Phitsan

*20/06 Lampang

I’m not expecting to need to book any charging stations. Fingers crossed.

Many Spark chargers are 180 kws, can get up to 150 kWh on my Seal, check them out on your road trip.

Spark is my favorite charging network. Reliable and powerful DC chargers....and easy to use app.

I have Platinum status on ReverSharger, which I think means about 5.x baht/Kwhr, do I get the same rate on Spark using the ReverSharger app or do I get 7.9Kwhr (Spark rate).

My only intended stop for charging tomorrow is at Mae Phrik and it has both Spark & Rever.

That i don’t know but i would guess you would pay 7.9 on a Spark charger using the Rever app.

Thinking about buying my first EV. Stupid question, can you just roll up to any station with chargers, charge the battery and pay using QR code. Or do you have to download multiple apps for various stations and top up the app with cash to pay for usage at a later date.

we all came from ICE vehicles and made the step to electric mobility. what many of us regret is only that we did not make this step much earlier ... 😁

if you can charge at home, you only need charging stations for long-distance drives or road trips. unfortunately, it is still the case that different charging providers require different apps. some need to be linked with a credit card, while others allow you to load credit into a wallet ... for my road trips, i mainly use three providers (ptt, spark, and pea), but i also have a few other apps installed, just in case ...

if you have more questions about electric mobility, just ask here ... everyone is welcome ... 😀

Here's a very good 37 minute review of the BYD Sealion 7 AWD...stumbled upon it by accident last night while doing my nightly Youtube watching to fall asleep.

It's a review of the Philippines version of the SL7 AWD which is basically identical to the Thailand version with the exception of it being a left-hand drive. This guy does a really, really good job of covering the infortainment controls/settings, overview the vehicles specs, etc.

As a new SL7 AWD owner I learned a few things from the video and for someone interested in buying a SL7 you definitely need to watch this video.

PIB - a Friend took me for a short ride in his 2 day old BYD Sea Lion 7 AWD yesterday.

I have a history of being against EV's, particularly from China, but this brief look yesterday shook my resolve somewhat.

The car, in a light shade of grey, looked 'the business' as I approached. A real feeling of solidity as I opened the door and as I got into the seat, it felt like a Bentley - SO comfortable. The materials inside were of best quality.

The acceleration was mindblowing and the ride was very quiet indeed. The response to voice commands and the sensitivity of the screens was swift and precise.

I was frankly, gobsmacked, by it all. Obviously EV are developing fast and outpacing European manufacturers swiftly and this has disastrous implications for European economies in particular.

Though this was the latest model in Thailand, apparently the latest in China is enhanced above even this amazing standard.

The EV story is not all good - pioneering owners of older models are apparently struggling as battery performance wanes in the vehicles' advanced years and both hybrid AND Full EV battery replacement costs exceed the value of the older vehicles.

This new Sea Lion 7 replaced an 8 month old KIA EV6 - contended that the Sea Lion was a VAST improvement . . .

I'll stick with ICE myself but I can see the joy in the right EV now!

@TorquayFan

Great post. And yea, I expect the export markets like Thailand will always be 12 to 18 months behind the latest model made for the China domestic market.

Thanks PIB. I should add, my Friend paid THB 1.3 million - the KIA was apparently THB 1.8 million so he was also massively chuffed about the BYD price!

Back to reality now - for me, a 16 years old fantastic VIGO and a 21 year old Ford Fusion UK side 🫠

Speaking of older ICE vehicles between the date I booked my SL7 and me picking it up a week later I put my 2008 Toyota Fortuner 3.0L Diesel up for sale....I had bought my Fortuner brand new when retiring to Thailand....took care good care of it and it took good care of me. A day and half later I completed the sale and ownership transfer at my local DLT office....only took an hour and half to complete the ownership transfer to the new owner.....and I didn't need to get a Certificate of Residence from immigration to complete the transfer since I have a Yellow Book/Thai Pink ID card....just a quick and smooth complete ownership transfer in less than two hours with cash money transfer at the DLT office. I was actually down to only owning one vehicle (my Atto) for about 3 days until I picked up the SL7....now back to having two cars.."100% electric vehicles." Diesel/petrol/gasoline buying is now a thing of history for me.....long live electrons!!!!!! 😁😃🤗
