Guangzhou. China Airlines (Sfo-Bkk) route if I remember correctly. Was before Covid.

 

Free overnight voucher for hotel in town during layover, but you don't have to go.

 

I'm sure they would probably not do it now during Covid, but if they do I would sleep in the airport and not risk a random test or arrest.
