I'm currently on a visa-exempt entry (30 days extended to 60 days) nearly finishing

What is the easiest way to do a visa run in June to get another 60 days? Flight to Phnom Penh, or border crossing to Laos?

I'm wanting a tourist visa, so I'm assuming I'll have to stay in a hotel for a few days to get the visa and Thailand Pass (I've had 3 vaccinations)

Why don't you obtain 60 day covid extension.

They are issuing CE till July 25.

Actually with your current permission of stay ending soon you can obtain the CE and another just prior to July 25.

That's basically another 4 month stay

I had no idea about this, do you have any more details?

You could search requirements for covid extension.

Virtually same as the 30 day extension to visa exempt.

Same TM7 form..

1900baht.

They will provide you with an affidavit that has few tick boxes.

Select second option.

Which immigration office?

Can the extension be converted to other types of visas afterwards?

No....

Your original entry visa exempt can change to non O based on retirement or marriage.

So that depends if you are 50+ or married to a Thai.b

However it would buy time.

At some point the TP and 10k insurance for reentry will be dropped.

The option I pointed out re Covid extension is far more simple than a visa run.

It's a no brainer.

You could apply a non immigrant visa at immigration if you can qualify for one.

There would be no other type of extension of stay you could apply for.

so it can't be converted to a working non-b visa?

I just wasn’t sure if a covid extension would affect the process

Also if I can still get a covid extension after already extending my 30 days to 60

Many have done exactly that.

In fact earlier this year I had a USA couple that had to travel visa exempt as their usual tourist visa process time was too long.

They then extended the exempt by 30 at Bangkok and later obtained a covid extension at Hua Hin.

Many have done that.

No issue.

You can apply or a non-b visa at immigration after getting a covid 19 extension since it is a extension of your visa exempt entry.

You have to get the 30 day extension before you can happy for a covid 19 extension.

thanks, yes I've already used the 30 day extension

I extended it just 2 weeks ago and gave them a lot of paperwork for my TM30, will the same paperwork be needed again? (I've kept the receipts for it)

The receipt for the TM30 report will be enough.

If your staying in a hotel then it's a breeze.

Before checking in make sure the hotel is doing TM30 and they will give you screenshot.

That's all you need.

More complicated if staying with gf or whatever.

Still not too difficult.

I stay in 1-month contract apartments when come to stay, so probably why I needed to provide all the TM30 docs
