I lurked on TV for about 2 years before I even joined up. Even then I hardly ever made a post for the first couple of months. I didn't have a reliable Internet connection and I was travelling around a lot so would be off line for weeks or months at a time. It was difficult enough just to keep up with my own personal correspondence - In Phnom Phen I opened up my Hotmail account and had 370 something messages in my inbox - I think I read and replied to about 30 the rest were redundant due to the time since they posted to me.

On TV unless you are on line regularly it is very easy to get behind in the current postings and suddenly realise that the conversation that you find really interesting is now out of date by 5 months.

It could be that something will change here for me and I will go back to being a lurker or at best a non regular poster, that will make Jet happy not to see my name as having the last word but I have always viewed TV as a reliable source of unreliable information about a lot of subjects many of which I have no interest.

Your right Tige, most of the thousands of un-posted members on TV just come to read about the serious stuff like visas. And it's all there if you want to look for it, often a search isn't necessary the same old topics come up ad nauseum. I came here for exactly that reason when the visa run system boiled over, looked around (lurked) and decided some of the posting members were in genuine need of guidance. Ask Crow Boy, he blesses the day I started posting. He's certainly learned a lot about football!

I'm a more of a lurker nowadays. Simple reason is I don't have time to think about long winded replies during the daytime - idle browsing or the odd daft one line post is the most I can get away with.

Still enjoy reading for the debates about the news and the banter, but don't get much more involved than that nowadays.
