Drugs, underage patrons found in police raid on illegal pub in Bangkok

Officials from the Provincial Administration Department (PAD) and Pathumwan district police raided a pub in Bangkok’s Rong Muang area early this morning (Saturday), after they received information that the nightspot was allegedly admitting underage customers and staying open until 4am.

 

About 500 Thai and foreign customers were in the pub at the time of the raid. All of them, as well as the staff, were tested for drugs and 18 of them, including a 19-year-old pregnant woman, tested positive. Five were found to be under 20 and twenty six were not carrying identification.

 

Police said that they found several small packs, thought to be crystal methamphetamine and ecstasy, on the floor, and few wrapped in banknotes. The suspected drugs were seized to be used as an evidence against the pub operator and owner.

 

Police suspect that the drugs were sold to customers for use in the restrooms, as guards were posted in front of them.

Hotel must have refused to pay its weekly RTP financial contribution in order to suddenly be deemed illegal and raided.

Think it was the wheels of the brown envelope transportation method that fell off as they were not delivered in a timely manner perhaps

This place can only be Spicy/Swing, the favorite go-to afterhour place for all hookers, drug dealers, tourists and everyone else who doesn’t have anything better after 2am; one of those dodgy places where tuk tuk and taxi drivers bring you because they get a commission (and you get a free ride if you know that) since at least 2008 (and probably way before). I can’t remember all the <deleted>faced nights I spent there as student, and all the hookups from there.

The good old Spicy Club...  well before 2008 I recall an acquaintance I met there complimenting me for my relatively good morals... I left with the same two girls I arrived with!
