Thai Rath reported on the grisly death of a man in Tak in north west Thailand who was trapped in his Honda car after colliding with the support pillar of a pedestrian crossing in Ban Tak sub-district.

Locals had tried to free the man but his legs were trapped. Then fire broke out and despite using water and an extinguisher they were unable to help him.

He was incinerated in his vehicle by the time Mae Salit police and fire services got to the scene.

He was named as Tak man Anuwat Saenpao, aged 38.

It would be interested to know how long it took FD to arrive and do they have standards set and hold authorities accountable for meeting standards?

my guess is no…

That's quite a rural area --they had to come from Mae Salit, I think its a little naive to think they could arrive in time to save a man from car exploding into flames......
