Pattaya Bar Girls are Lazy

My first Thai live in gf used to charge 40,000bht/weekend back in 2009.

(worked the expensive hotels in Chiang Mai through an escort service)

Sadly I had to get rid, as her previous customers would arrive in Thailand and call her, and she wasn't about to turn down 40kbht+ for 2 nights and an all expenses paid holiday in Phuket/Krabi/etc.

Lovely girl, ended up married to an old Dutch guy who built her a resort just outside of Chiang Mai.

At least it didn’t cost you 660,000 quid to get rid of her.

being common is not new, all the bigger gogos use them at some point
many gogos have only agency girls as the owners/manager fail to get staff
it is hard work getting staff, it takes a LOT of effort and bag waan
especially for new bars or struggling bars etc. or less known owners

if any place is using mostly agency girls

it is a very bad sign for the business

You are talking about the current situation, whereas I was talking about pre-Covid business.

i don’t know a bar manager who likes 10 day contracts.

I was minding my own business here in Dubai, when a Thai lady in Abu Dhabi sent me a Facebook friend request. I responded, and she immediately messaged me. After a few messages, she began talking about not having a job. Instant block.

A great example of a lazy Thai lady. She probably gets by fishing for suckers on the internet. Easy money.

I can’t imagine that anyone would send money to a lady they haven’t met, but there are such idiots.

I presume you mean B2,200 a week? I know that is about what a girl in 7/11 or Lotus gets. Say B9000 a month.

Most probably live at home with parents, but if not, a room comes to about B2000 a month, electric another B500, phone/internet B250. B6000 a month or so food and spending money, maybe a bit more if they share the room.

Not a lot, but they seem to manage...

My kid finished Uni last year, she's getting paid 20k month + free air-con apartment shared with a co-worker.

Daughter graduated Uni last year, offered job where she interned, and where she applied elsewhere, but declined, 25-30k a month starting salary.  Choosing self employment instead, on my advice, so I did support her for 6 months, while getting started.

Spent 6 months developing her own online business.  Found she had too much time on her hands, so took the job offered where she interned at while in last year of Uni.  Started at 28k, now averages 40+k a month (less than 6 months in), and in another year, hopes to be knocking on 100k a month, just on the salaried job.

Buying a 2.6 mill baht house in August, for investment only.  No assistance from me, after she started working.  None for the house purchase.

Understand not all can take Uni classes full time, but really not necessary to.  Can do both, uni & work, just takes longer.   Or work while trying self employment part time.  Many restaurant owners started as street vendors.   Many hobbyist turned their passion into businesses.

Those putting in the effort, and choosing wisely can easily be successful here, as anywhere, when applying one's self.

Of course being raised in an international environment with solid economic compare to those who have toxic parents and environment where there is few role models and few chances to succeed after years indoctrinated in the village schools and temples.

Some still manage to climb the ladder, most is status q.

There is unfortunate not much creative thinking after had been indoctrinated in the thai society especially country side of Isaan.

NB edit not: Still brother in law managed to become high in Goverment position as engineer with great help from family. Dirt poor when growing up, now boss of one of the road developing departments.

Sure, but drinking in the bar is integral.  If you just need to pay for sex, that's easy to do elsewhere.

Yes I paid for sex in the uk.

it was just called something else !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :giggle:

I'm sure the glamour of the job and prospects of early entitled retirement wears off fast.

After a few months with sexpats/sextourist, I'm not surprised if they've had their fill already of that lot.

I used to bartend, and drunks are simply annoying.  Imagine being a woman and being mauled all night by a bunch of old, over weight, smelly CCs.  Then knowing you'll be back tomorrow.

That's motivation ... ????

You beat me to it.

Online marketing, her own, and just started working for another online company, as seems to have too much time on her hands.

She quit working for LAZ a few months back.  Didn't seem to want to compensate her for her talent.   Oh well.  New job gave her a salary bump up of ~85& increase, and still has time to do her own thing.

She just returned from short trip to CN, and found better manufacturer for her products.   Thai labor cost are starting to get up there, and affected her bottom line.  Plus she found materials not readily available here.

I knew this lady when she first came to work on Soi 6. Within a month, she was with child, and the baby has been supported by the Aussie father.  She never went back to Soi 6, and lived with her Thai husband in Bangkok.

So, no, she is not in my rotation.

But you still class her as a bargirl, fat and lazy? 5000 fbfriends no doubt keep her very busy!

She hasn't been able to get a job in the last few years, because of that "fat" thing.  If it weren't for the money that lonely guys send her, her boyfriend would have bailed long ago.

To clarify, she doesn't actually see the lonely guys she has as Facebook friends. They only see her 5 year old photos on Facebook.

And yes, she and the boyfriend fight when the money runs low, and he sends her to Pattaya to get a bar job. No luck with that.

The bar girls I used to hang around, very rarely have 2-3 customers a week. They had a few long time bf sending money, and went off when they felt the need.

These bars where busy serving customers with drinks, and the girls got more money working long hours instead of going with cheap customers.

I live in the same reality as you - I'm a Patong barfly six nights a week for six months a year (in season) and a keen people watcher and VERY few of the girls EVER get barfined, let alone three times a night!

Lolothais long rant is total fiction to me.

3 times a week would be good going for some and less in low season. I once observed a Gogo girl that had 3 a night but she was exceptionally good looking. She didn't do it too long either.
