Not amused how "my body, my choice" was classed as non permittable speech for 2 years until Roe vs Wade was overturned and suddenly the narrative turned on a dime and "my body, my choice" was a good thing again.

Forcing people against their will to make questionable decisions regarding their health was IMO an unforgivable sin. And it is hypocrisy in the extreme trying to claim the high moral ground.

So, nice try, but no sale.

Different issues mate

This is the result by way of those who are intolerant and lack open cognitive abilities.

They have little to offer of any such substance.

It's not a matter of tolerance.

If someone says that abortion is still available as before in all 50 states they are either very ignorant or more likely lying. Reality matters.

If we can't agree on basic real facts a civil discussion is impossible.

It's OK to be against abortion but it's not OK to promote outrageous distortions LIES about what happened after Roe vs Wade was ended

... and that is not what I said. I said it was available from coast to coast. In most places, the same as before the Court's decision.

Coast to coast means every state.

This map is VERY DIFFERENT since the radical right wing court abolished constitutional abortion rights against the overwhelming will of the people.that were in effect for 50 years.

Why do you insist on doubling down on insipid gaslighting?

Again with the "gaslighting" thing... is that your mot du jour?  I provide a simple fact, and you call it gaslighting.  And your go-to source is......Slate.com? Bwahahahaha!

That's right. Trump and the GOP are anti-gay. So anti gay in fact that they appointed the first ever openly gay cabinet member in US history!

And as you know, overturning Roe did not end abortion in the US. It is still possible to get an abortion from sea to sea.  It just gave the power back to the people. You ARE for democracy, aren't you?

Depending on what state you reside in and if you have financial resources you can have access to needed medical services as regards abortion requirements. The attempt by states to use a like regulation reminiscent of the Fugitive Slave Law remains to be tried through the courts.

Many poor women can't afford that. Is that the right wing line now? Rights only if you have the money?

Polls don't matter to women.

Laws matter.

My specific views are not the topic here.

You put on this ridiculous show that what people want in the polls is HAPPENING.

NO!

The people wanted Roe to stand and now that the right wing radicals have trashed it many states are now massively restrictive. Not aware of even one state that responded moderately.

The people didn't know what Roe was or was not. They reacted in polls based on the media bias surrounding the subject. YET...

...if you ask actual specific questions about abortion, about what restrictions or freedoms people want to see in their state, the answers are quite different.  And I think you know this, which is why you choose to ignore it. Instead, relying on generalities and platitudes and even being coy about your own beliefs on the subject.

Polling shows that abortion support wanes with time. Only about 10% of people want abortion outlawed completely. Similarly, only about 20% want no restrictions.  Most want restrictions after the first trimester.

But that level of nuance seems difficult for some to comprehend...

Plenty of charities set up to take care of this. Pro abortion people can put their money where their collective mouths are.  Should be no problem collecting millions from people if abortion is so popular, right?

People know what Roe vs. Wade WAS.

The radical right wing court trashed it and now abortion has been severely restricted in many states with more to come.

Roe vs Wade already enabled moderate restrictions.

They can help some women to some degree and they will.

But they shouldn't have to in the first place.

Many poor women can't get time off to travel and will try unsafe methods  Some of them will die. Some will get fired for taking time off for travel and no charity is going to pay their rent or replace their income.

Biden has trouble "thinking" period. He's finished, the democrats know it, everyone exercising cognition knows it. Biden and his admin are a total disaster and have not accomplished much if anything for America. If you disagree, please share Biden's accomplishments here.

Most Democrats Don’t Want Biden in 2024, New Poll Shows

"With the country gripped by a pervasive sense of pessimism, the president is hemorrhaging support"

NYTimes link

With Biden and his admin everything is a PR stunt that ultimately fails and they go from crisis to crisis and solve nothing.

Where is Trump and the people who care about America and Americans!

That radical right wing court wouldn't exist if not for the utter greed and self centeredness of RBG. Multiple cancer survivor, in her 80's, with what had to be a very few years left of life expendancy would not go while the conditions were best. To her her career mattered more than Roe or anything else. Where were all these cry babies on the left when the court could have still been saved by shaming her into doing the right thing? Why didn't President Slogan read her the riot act during his 1st term while he had 60 senate votes and a strong house majority?

Now the liberals of America are looking for a scapegoat for their ridiculous choice of selecting a 78 year old nominee. There will be plenty of whining and pointing fingers while their party gets slaughtered the next couple election cycles. I just feel sorry for American progressives who are stuck in a forced marriage with dumb liberals.

Very true. Just like RBG. Is that a NYC or American thing?

Lot of talk about abortion here but it will not be on the radar come fall when the Dems get demolished over fuel prices and inflation.

Low information voters will believe that inflation and fuel prices are an American thing and caused mainly by domestic policies.

I don't accept your equivalency assertion of Trump.and RBG.

Abortion will most certainly be on the radar but I agree economic issues will dominate.

The democrats will lose the house but have a good chance of increasing their majority in the Senate. Mostly another own goal by Republicans nominating Trumpist looney tunes such as Herschel Walker.
