As for the books I am currently updating my master list of authors as I do twice a year. I m down to the last 5 or 6 on my tablet before I need to add more. I have about 190 single books and around 150 authors with multiple books to choose from. 

 

I have just read several books by Rhys Bowen, Some I liked and a couple I have dumped after 50 or 100 pages.

The UK is basically a 3rd world country these days - shambles.

While the US's former president is a standup comedian without a sense of humor, BoJo is about visual comedy.  Who can doubt the comedic genius of the zip-line stunt?  The hair, that stupid expression he gives while staring straight into a camera?  Perhaps his next move will be a tv show where he creates a hapless comedic character, like Mr Bean.

In episode 1 he visits a chicken hatchery in the US where his job is to wash the chickens in chlorine bleach, a favorite subject of his while PM.

Episode 2 he is an appliance repairman called to Mar-a-Lago to fix an exploding dishwashing machine, one of DT's favorite subjects.

I know of him, but I doubt their sartorial elegancé are connected. 

Johnson does it to appear the loveable buffoon.

Bannon does it to demonstrate he doesn't give a toss.

What they do have in common is that they are both scum. 

He has done enough, time to tip a few and eat more.

A heartening affirmation that integrity and character in political leaders does matter; a lesson that Trump's die-hard supporters appear to have sadly not yet learned.

 

As an American who started watching British Parliamentary debates during Brexit, I was struck from the outset by Boris Johnson's disingenuous delivery, and his orangutan-like arm gesticulations. I felt an immediate instinctive distrust of the man, something which I was amazed so few failed to see.

 

His chummy relationship with Trump further marked him as either a man who was a poor judge of character, or who lacked a moral compass.

 

He was truly an affront to the moral fiber of the British people, just as Trump is an affront to the moral fiber of the American people.

As an American you should understand Boris became PM essentially because he wasn't Teresa.

In the same way Trump became President because he essentially wasn't Hilary.

And Macron became President because he essentially wasn't Le Pen.

Not a UK citizen, but I still feel a sense of "good riddance". I will remember him for hijacking T. May's deal by adding a blatant lie about the customs check then be heralded as some kind of Brexit hero.  And for the "we are different from the commoners" parties during Covid. Even yesterday I didn't see the attitude of someone resigning, he wouldn't leave until they literally showed him the door out.

To be fair, honor to the UK for being still sufficiently democratic to be able to take him down. Something I wish the EU was able to do with von der Leyen & co.

heard from some friends over there in the UK, have nothing to confirm their comments besides hearsay, the current feeling to re join/going back to the EU is around 70+ percent,
