The man's a con artist - full of words, full of promises - tell me, what has he actually done?  What did he achieve as Mayor of London - apart from wasting £43 million of taxpayer's money on a bridge that never got built.

I cannot understand how, if they actually research his well documented history, anyone could possibly support him.

No, his claims were not a complete fabrication , the E.U did indeed have laws about bananas not being an abnormal shape, like being  too bendy .

    E.U had rules about the shape of bananas .

Also , what is a "party" ?

Drinks after work in the office to mark a colleague leaving their job ?

Some people may consider that to be a party, others may not and he also thought that he was staying within the rules

Although Boris did support the idea of the Garden Bridge , he had little to do with it and there were many people involved and he wasn't responsible for it being built or its demise

Think you are confused.  My comment was  regarding MPH in the UK, not the metric system in general but perhaps you simply didn't read all of my post or choose in your usual manner to be deflective simply to create an argument..

You have to remember that MM has been a supporter of that criminal Boris all along so hence anybody that condones such behaviour will, just like Boris, come up with all sorts of incorrect or even downright imaginative replies to support that outgoing liar. However when you think of all those who supported Boris now throwing their hats into the ring for the PMs job will this make any difference to the country ? I doubt it as replacing one crook with another from his gang will just be more of the same unfortunately. Ben Wallace has decided it is not for him and Penny Mordant as yet has not declared whether she is running and they are the only two who are honourable enough to hold that position IMHO. As for the rest well more heartbreak for the country I'm afraid irrespective of who wins the race.

And for the avoidance of doubt, contradictions or smart a""d replies my reference to MPH on all road signs in the UK was specifically for all road signs denoting speed limits or other speed limitations or advisory speed notices.

He resigned as party leader, not PM, a clear indication he is up to something. That, and his word is worth nothing anyway.

Then there's his spending - anyone know about the £43 million he spent of his Garden Bridge, the one that never got built when he was Mayor of London - FORTY THREE MILLION POUNDS! for a bridge that didn't even get to the planning permission stage - to name but one. Spent/Wasted on PPE during the pandemic?  That will come out in the inquiry but its rumoured to be billions.

 

Achievments? 

 

Vaccine? - any other Prime Minister would have done the same, the thing was developed in a UK university for god's sake.  Anyone checked the UK's Covid deaths total? In any case, I doubt Boris had much at all to do with the actual planning of the vaccine rollout - that was carried out by the NHS.

 

Brexit - Oven Ready Deal........really? Then why is Brexit still not done (Northern Ireland)

 

New Hospitals? - None built - or even started as far as I know.

 

Levelling up? A con, most of his projects in the North have been cancelled.

 

HS2? - Northern sections cancelled.

 

The man did a lot of talking, a lot of lying and tried to change the law to protect his buddies. But he actually did very little other than damage the country's reputation.

 

The problem now for the UK is how much damage has he done and do the conservatives have time to make effective repairs before the next election?  If labour get in, it will be disasterous for the UK.

 

The conservatives need to think very carefully about who they choose as their next leader.  Liz Truss is almost as hated (by the public) as Boris is and if they elect one of the candidates with foreign heritage, that will also probably cause them to lose the next election.  There's still a lot of racism in the UK and the public think very differently to the major party members who seem to live in cloud cuckoo land.

 

Reece Mogg?  I haven't seen any announcement from him but surely, even the conservatives wouldn't be that stupid. The man should be shot.

 

Interesting and potentially worrying times ahead.

As that article further points out, the EU never dictated the shape of bananas, it simply had regulations on how they should be classified by grade. This included saying that bananas sold as:

So basically, the EU was saying that bananas could be of any shape, they just couldn't be sold as superior grade if they were excessively malformed. Curvature was never even mentioned.
