Siam Rath reported that Khao Chai Son district police in Phatthalung, southern Thailand, received a tip about a group of illegal Myanmar migrants by the side of the road.

The group of workers were found hiding in a palm plantation. 21 were arrested - 20 men and one woman - nine managed to flee and are still on the run.

Those arrested were taken for ATK tests and prosecuted for illegal entry.

They had crossed into Thailand at Mae Sot, Tak, in the north west and were headed for "a neighboring country" - in this case that euphemism would be Malaysia, notes ASEAN NOW.

Police are still trying to find the rest that escaped.

There's no way that these people just got there on their own. And as long as Thailand keeps treating trafficking victims like criminals, their fever dream of getting a better ranking in the US TIP report is never going to come true.

If ever there  was a true jihad in Thailand, the amount of illegal entries would make the country unviable

Sounds like Malaysia is more enticing than slaving away in Thailand.
