Thai cabinet extends State of Emergency until end of September

Can this man rule without dictatorial powers? When he was elected PM, I noted that as the leader of the junta to make people jump, if he said 'jump'. PM ,as the leader of a party in Parliament has no such powers and he has to persuade ands cajole people to his will.....well he has had the state of emergency to help him almost continuously since he became PM. How on earth will we ever get rid of this tyrant?

It is of no use commenting on this decree. It has been extended so many times by this excuse for a democratic government that it is fixed until it is ousted by the people.

I myself yearn for the protesting students to return to the streets, but they can't while this decree is in place.

So what to do?

It will need others to be moved on also as well as him to ensure Thailand can start to return to normality. Unfortunately the damage done over the years will possibly take decades to repair assuming that is all of those needing removal are indeed removed. If not a Burmese situation could easily become the issue in Thailand.

That is almost certainly the plan, and has been since the coup.

With the country fully open this just doesn't make sense.... unless?

Covid - the gift that keeps on giving. (Brown envelopes?)

Nothing to do with brown envelopes.

It's to keep a handful of protesters off the streets... while other mass events can continue.
