Hi. I've been impressed with the CBR 150 ( thanks to all the TV CBR owners out there with their comments) and am wondering what are the differences, if any, between the 06 and 07 models( I know there's a new colour)?I'll be buying one soon and am curious.

Hi,

yes the color design. But I read somewhere that the 07 model has more power (22 hp) compared to the previous ones (16 or 17 hp). As I have no comparison, however I cannot confirm this.

Maybe some other guys here will know more about it.

Cheers

Added horsepower would be a big plus, but most of us haven't heard of such. In fact, we can't agree on any horsepower ratings! It's unlikely, and would have been advertised, I would think.

I have to agree there.

I would suggest a run to the seaside ,,and throw it in there.

Then go and buy a bike that is a bike,,,at least 600cc plus.

Then you dont have to worry about added horses,,,only prehaps the legalities.

I hope that this helps. :o

only (for sure) the legalities; plus lack of warranty, lack of dealership backup, lack of mechanical know-how...if you have the money for a genuine, factory-warranteed BMW, go for it....at 8 to 10 times the price of a new CBR150R.

Anyway I am very happy with my CBR150R.

A big bike is of no use for me, but many people need it for their ego :D

A small bike is akin to taking the bus :D

I have to say that you are on the right track with the CBR.

It is a step up towards larger bikes and looks good too.

It might be slow but I,m happy that you not asking questions about motorcyclings all time joke.

Thats the one,,,,,,the Honda Phantom.

What a waste of space.

Keep up the good work and dont forget to always "look back"...

I,m sorry that I cant answer your question about the differences between CBR 150,s

thanks all for the replies. I was thinking about going bigger than the 150 but my Thai wife will only go as far as the CBR, which I have to give her credit for being courageous as she is about 5ft 4 and 115 pounds soaking wet so it's a big leap for her to the manual clutch, 6 speed 150 from a Mio. I've checked out all the info available in Thailand about the 2007 models and the only real difference I can see is the new colour scheme, which actually looks pretty nice ( the black/charcoal looking one). I'm also curious as to the comfort level of the seats. How's the back seat for comfort and leg stretch? Unfortunately, where I live the Honda dealer doesnt keep CBR's in stock ( no one seems to drive them here-- I've seen one in the past year) so I'll have to order one from BK first before I can take a test drive so any info from the CBR gang is greatly appreciated. We'll only be taking it for short jaunts to the beach and the occasional 6-8hr day trip so I'm wondering if comfort upgrades are needed ( seats etc...) or is the standard version good enough? Again, cheers.

Most of the CBR150 comments are probably in the thread about our informal 'owners' club' in this forum. As for a Thai driving it who's five feet four, I doubt that Nok Lek is any taller, he weighs about 49 kilos, and he manages to ride my bike. The pillion is up high, and so are its footpegs, so if your trouser inseam is longer than 30 inches, your knees will be up in the air. Still, I don't get too uncomfortable within 30 minutes. True, the controls are more complex than a Mio, but that's not saying much. This week, I had to come to a truly screeching halt behind an immense truck that was stopped in the fast lane, and I think I'd be in the hospital if I'd been on anything less controllable than a sportbike. In other words, the CBR150 may have saved my life by being the safer bike out there.
