Orthopedics at RAM Hospital
I have had good experience of Dr Chanakarn who dealt with a shoulder issue of mine at Ram. He also dealt with an Achilles tendon problem of mine at his clinic on Charoenprathet Rd. His treatment using anti inflammatory drugs cost me less than 5000 thb whereas at another very high profile hospital their specialist wanted to conduct surgery on a heel spur for 130 000 thb to deal with the same pain problem. Dr Chanakarn did not believe the spur was the source of the pain and here I am 18 months later without having needed surgery. His clinic is open nightly and does not use appointments, you just turn up and wait. Check Google Maps for directions. -

Thailand Prepares for Bold Rate Cuts to Spur Economic Recovery
Problem here is, aside from oil & gas and a banking system that sucks giant monkey balls, Thailand doesn’t make much and its workforce is inefficient. Some of the best engineers I’ve worked with and people can be well switched on as with anywhere in the world. But when you get to grassroots level with the ‘normal’ folk, they can be slovenly foot shovellers and unreliable and also nowadays don’t like to do menial jobs like labouring. All this inefficiency costs businesses time and money. And that is just fine actually as these guys also know how to enjoy life. The West is sick and has it wrong. F the monetary system! -

British Tourist's Thai Jail Ordeal: Forced to Drink Urine for Survival
Sooooo, we are being asked to believe that some Thai woman gave him a powerful hallucinogenic drug and then got him to drive her car . Has to be true because I was always being asked by Thai women I didn't know to drive their car and not remembering after what happened. Sarcasm alert. -

Israeli Tourist's Taxi 'Mishap' Resolved with 1,500 Baht in Pattaya
I think the tourists were probably upset that they weren't being taken to their destination which is something they desperately needed much more after the incident. Not saying the driver should be expected to drive with the stink of course not but both the driver and the passengers were having a very bad day. So the guy has an accident, now not only pay the fare without getting home, but now pay much more and no way to get home. Not the driver's fault but certainly stressful for the tourists. It's not like there was a hosing down station on the street. -

Does the inequality ever make you uncomfortable?
No. But I don't flaunt my wealth around the locals.
