Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) system is online (but not announced as starting yet)
Why? The only thing that gets "approved" is simply that you have entered information in the form correctly. Nothing is checked or verified. And as has been stated if it is not done in advance there will be a facility to do it on arrival. -

Chinese Couple Arrested in Pattaya for Lewd Public Photo Shoot
Picture courtesy of Kaoded. Tourist police in Pattaya have arrested a Chinese couple after they were caught staging an explicit photo shoot on a public pavement in South Pattaya. Acting on a tip-off from a community security volunteer under the Strong Tourist Community (S.T.C.) initiative, police were alerted to a man and a woman, believed to be foreign tourists, setting up a camera and engaging in sexual acts while filming themselves on the pavement in broad daylight. The operation was led by Pol. Col. Songwut Chueaplakij, Superintendent of Division 2, Tourist Police Bureau 1, along with officers from Pattaya City Police Station and Tourist Police Division 4. Investigations quickly identified the pair as Mr. Jiang 67 and Miss Ping 35, a couple from China currently visiting Thailand. The couple was located and brought in for questioning at Pattaya Tourist Police Station. Mr. Jiang claimed to be a professional photographer with a penchant for nude photography in famous tourist destinations around the world. He admitted that he had conducted similar shoots in several countries and had intended to include Pattaya in his personal collection, unaware that such an act constituted a legal offence in Thailand. He apologised to Thai authorities stating he had no intention of causing offence. Both individuals were handed over to the investigative team at Pattaya City Police Station for further legal proceedings. -- 2025-04-10 -

Bangkok Building Collapse: Death Toll Hits 22 as Search Intensifies
Rescuers scan the rubbles at the site of an under construction high-rise building that collapsed after an earthquake in Bangkok, Thailand, Wednesday, April 2, 2025. (AP Photo/Manish Swarup) The frantic search-and-rescue mission at the collapsed Bangkok State Audit Office building has tragically seen its death toll climb to 22, while 72 remain unaccounted for. Following the catastrophic building collapse during the Myanmar earthquake on March 28, a robust operation armed with heavy machinery presses on in the Chatuchak district. It's day 13 of the daunting rescue efforts, characterised by a vigorous blend of manpower and machinery. An array of equipment, including 21 machines plus a newly arrived 120-tonne backhoe, is in full swing. With the recent inclusion of a crane capable of moving 1,000 tonnes of debris, operations are anticipated to pick up pace. The vast pile of rubble – towering 7 to 8 metres – sees search teams in constant motion, unearthing remnants in strategic Zones A through E. Canadian rescue units rejoin the front line, accompanied by local paratrooper police and disaster management units, who bravely scale the debris. Their tenacity focuses on clearing the mountainous heaps made by overnight machinery operations. Boosting this collaborative effort, Bangkok’s governor, Chadchart Sittipunt, stands resolute at the site, supporting the workforce and stressing swift action as pivotal. The Royal Thai Police confirm the receipt of 22 bodies by the Institute of Forensic Medicine, with 18 successfully identified, providing a glimmer of closure for families already in mourning. Priority now remains on clearing the mass of rubble obstructing search efforts, igniting hope of locating survivors amidst the ruins. As operations edge closer to crucial areas, the increased momentum signifies an uncompromising drive to rescue those still trapped beneath the debris. Based on a story by Bangkok Post -- 2025-04-10 -
