Cheap MRI in Thailand

Featured Replies

I wanted to give my 2 cents worth on this topic.

I recently had an MRI on my foot. I thought about the cheap option described above. But decided that using inferior machines and getting no radiology report is unwise.

Instead I went to a private hospital who quoted up to 27,000 baht. Had it done on a 3T machine. A radiologist with 20 years experience and who studied at Ivy league university in the states did the analysis.

If one is having an MRI done it surely means you want the best for your body. You get what you pay for IMHO. Cost me 19,000 after 1 hour in that machine. (no contrast fluid)

  • Yes, older equipment and none of the specialized types (multi-parametric etc). But usually OK for say MRI of the spine.   I would advise against getting MRI with contrast at any stand alone

  • Yes, you are right. Just wanted to help anybody who might need it. From my own impression, they have a bit older equipment (like 1.5T machines versus 3T) , but still quite useful in 95% of cases.

  • If you are referring to www.mrithailand.com this has been posted about many, many times
