Taxi driver pervert arrested for sexual molestation of a child - it began when girl was 5/6

Don Muang police in Bangkok have announced the arrest of a taxi driver for sexual molestation of a child under 13. 

 

He said he only molested the child, it wasn't rape. 

 

Somboon Thafeuang, 56, was picked up on a warrant while driving his cab in the Ratchathewi area of the Thai capital.

 

Earlier a social activist known as Kan Jormpalang had taken the mother of a 12 year old child named only as "A" to file a police report for rape and sexual molestation at an address in Soi Wat Weluwanaram, Don Muang. It was committed by a neighbor, the taxi driver. 

 

The suspect has told investigators that the abuse began when the child was only 5 or 6 years old. 

 

He said that on four occasions since then he had removed the child's lower garments and placed his sexual organ next to the child's to satisfy his sexual urges.

 

He said there had been no penetration, no rape.

 

He said that he got sexual urges by carrying the child on his shoulders.

 

He admitted to giving money in the sum of 20-100 baht to two siblings.

 

It emerged that 20 years ago before coming to work in Bangkok the suspect had done the same thing in his hometown.

 

He was palefaced and did not respond to reporters' questions, reported Siam Rath.

 

Police said a charge of rape may follow after test results are in.

a child under 13.... so above 13 it is ok??? I think the law should be changed in at least 17 and sexual molestation is never allowed no matter what age

Perverts , druggies , drunkards , criminals , mentally disturbed , rapists who rape their own 6 year old ( step ) daughter .... Yaba addicts who not hesitate to kill their own mother if she refuses to give money to buy drugs ... macho drivers who think they have a right to do whatever they want ... 4 on 1 motorbike without helmets at night without light driving on the opposite lane against the traffic ...

So often in these cases it is not the child or the mother complaining but some third party, makes me wonder what's the story behind the story.

Castration does not totally stop the urge,but it probably would have

helped but this is illegal.

Unfortunately castration doesn't always work. The Adrenal Glands also produce testosterone and can ramp up production after castration. Also for many of these paedophiles what they do is habitual and often satisfies a need for control of victims which has little to do with sex. They perhaps may not rape but they would find some other method of sexual molestation and control of vulnerable children. The only way to stop them is keep them in prison or execute them
