Recommendations for Pulmonary or COPD specialist in Bangkok

Featured Replies

After years of being highly active, but smoking, its like something broke. I suspect I may also have had asymptomatic COVID.

Since, have had multiple flare ups in the last couple months that leave me gasping.

Is there anyone in Bkk who stands out for COPD diagnosis and management?

I have had a treatment suggested via a doctor a Bumrungrad (which is next door) but it seems ineffective.

Sorry..not a bkk resident but curious to know as I have been struggling for 2 yrs now with no clear diagnosis

Did you have covid?

Do symptoms recede for months and then return?

Clear x-rays and cardio system looks normal?

I'm uncertain re COVID. A number of folks very close to me all got it. Around the same time I got a mild cold i didnt think twice about.

Shortly thereafter my more serious and inconvenient symptoms began.

Now im looking for someone competent to guide me thorough diagnosis and treatment.

I have had mild controlled asthma in the past, but now it is no longer mild nor controllable. Im fine for a couple weeks, then all of a sudden struggling to breathe again for days on end.

Last week i did 160 km on my bike, this week cooking dinner is exhausting.

most concerning.

Vitamin C levels take a hit with covid, which is one reason doctors have been prescribing some.  But smoking a cigarette costs vitamin C as well, so you may already be behind the curve on this one.  It couldn't hurt to try taking some.  Personally, I like a B-complex anytime I'm sick--it seems to be more effective for me than the vit. C.  It all depends on what the body needs most at the time.

Queen Siriraj Hospital, Government Hospital.

I have heart condition, this is by far the best place to go.

Why would I need to do that?

He was referring to a Thai government hospital. All signs, forms etc in Thai, confusing bureaucratic  steps/procedures, and no English speaking by the clerks and nurses. It can be very difficult to navigate the system without  Thai speaker along at least the first time.

If you go to Bumrungrad or other "international" private hospital then obviously no need to have a Thai speaker with you.

Re Dr. Yongyudh:

- US trained and US board certified. Worked in US for some 28 years and held a Professorship at a US medical school

-Areas of specific specializiation include COPD

-Has published in international peer reviewed journals

I have similar, check that you do not have Aortic Valve Stenosis.

This tires you quickly & shortness of breath

Thank you. Any reasoning behind the reccomendatiin you care to share?

Experience, on various occasions.

Also, he is recommended by other Thai pulmonologists, good ones.
